Description

Hilmako gold tea is characterized by its liquor’s gold to golden brown color. This is reflective of the golden red soil the tea plant (Camelia Sinensis) grows in the high altitude hills of Eastern Nepal. The tea leaves are long oxidized and naturally dried for several hours then wood fired. The tea has a complex flavor dominated by hints of wild honey like taste.

Origin: Our teas are sourced from the high altitude hills of Nepal ranging from 4000 to 8000 feet. These specialty teas are grown and plucked by local farmers.

How to brew this tea?

Add one tablespoon (1.5 to 3 g) of tea leaves for every 8 ounces of water to the tea infuser/pot. Pour hot water (200-212F°) over the tea leaves and steep for 2 to 5 minutes.

I love this tea in the morning to start my day. It reminds me of the tea my mom used to brew when I was young.

  5. Debra Cooper

  6. Susan D

What a delicious tea. It’s the best one I have had in a long time. I’ll be purchasing a larger quantity quite soon as I slowly wean away from coffee for good.

  7. Anika Malluer

I’m big fan of tea and don’t mind to try something new. This blend was pleasant surprise for me. It has wild honey like flavor. Very comforting blend especially for cold weather. Love it

  8. Bethany MC.

The excellent taste which can be effectively varied by the measure of leaf quantity and steep time. I use 1 1/2 heaping tablespoons of loose leaf in a Finum brewing basket set in a dual walled glass 26 oz. pot. A short steep time maybe 30 seconds at 209 degrees F.. I remove the tea basket immediately after the short steep time. First and second flush leaves are the best ( usually never addressed by the seller). I am not sure about the leaf tip color having any effect on taste. There are many producers of Black tea but I find the better tasting teas are from Nepal (Himalko Tea).

  9. Renuka

I am absolutely thrilled with Himako Gold tea. The flavor is rich and full-bodied, with a hint of sweetness and a wonderful, warming aroma. The golden color of the brew is truly stunning, and each cup is a pleasure to drink. Whether I’m looking for a caffeine boost to start my day or a comforting drink to wind down at night, this golden loose leaf black tea never disappoints. I highly recommend it to those who are looking to try something new and extraordinary. Package was nicely packaged and delivered on time. Very happy with purchase.
