ORIGIN

From the Himalayas, to Your Cup

This tea comes from the same gardens as our other teas, on slopes between 3,000 and 7,000 feet in eastern Nepal — but only the very youngest buds make it into this one. Everything else stays on the bush.

Every bud here is still hand-picked, the way it's been done on these hillsides for generations, by farming families Himalko buys directly from. No brokers stacked in between, no blending in leaf from elsewhere to stretch a batch.

CRAFT

Fixed fast, to stay greenThe least-processed tea we make

No rolling, no oxidizing, no firing — white tea skips almost every step that shapes other teas.

01

Pluck

Only the youngest, still-closed buds — picked by hand from gardens at 3,000–7,000 ft.

02

Wither

A long, slow wither — sometimes over a full day — letting moisture leave naturally.

03

Dry

Dried gently with minimal heat, the softest finish of any tea we make.

04

Rest

Left to rest briefly so moisture evens out across the whole batch.

05

Sort & pack

Sorted by hand for uniform buds, then packed the same week.

TASTING NOTES

Delicate. Floral. Quiet.

Straight from the product description, in plain terms.

AROMA

Soft and honeyed, with a faint whisper of hay — nothing sharp or grassy about it.

PALATE

Light and delicate, almost sweet, with none of the bitterness stronger teas can have.

FINISH

Clean and quiet, fading gently rather than lingering on the tongue.

WHY THIS TEA

Why buy this over the grocery-store box?

1

Direct from the farm

Himalko buys straight from small growers in Nepal — fewer middlemen, fresher leaf, and more of what you spend actually reaches the people who grew it.

2

Barely touched, on purpose

Most white tea sits for days before drying, losing freshness along the way. Ours is dried within a day or two of picking.

3

Single-origin, traceable

Every batch comes from the same hillside gardens — no blending in filler leaf from elsewhere to bulk up the box.

4

Buds only, not later leaves

We use only the first-flush buds, not the coarser later leaves that bulk out cheaper white tea blends.

HIMALKO LOOSE LEAF
TYPICAL TEA BAG
Leaf Quality
Whole leaf, hand-rolled
Dust and fannings — the leftover bits too small to sell whole
Flavor
Layered, evolves as it steeps
Flat and one-note — brews fast, tastes shallow
Processing
Whole buds, dried within days of picking
Often blended from lower-grade fannings sitting in storage
Re-Steeping
Good for 2–3 infusions
Spent after one steep — nothing left in the dust
Packaging
One pouch, reusable infuser
Bag, string, paper tag, and individual wrapper — most of it single-use
Traceability
Single garden, single harvest
Usually a blend of lots from multiple countries and harvests
BREWING

How to brew it right

LEAF
1 tbsp
2–3g per 8oz water
WATER
175–185°F
Well below boiling
STEEP
3–5 min
Whole buds need more time than leaf
One 2oz pouch brews up to 20 cups; the 4oz size stretches to 43 — plenty to figure out your ideal steep time.
Recyclable packaging. Every tin ships in a curbside-recyclable cardboard tube, not plastic — one more small way to keep this closer to the way tea used to come.
ECO-FRIENDLY
AIR-SEAL LID
KEEPS FRESHNESS
FOIL-LINED INTERIOR

What actually shows up at your door

This is the real tube — mountain-line logo, a hand-drawn tea shoot on the front, and the full brew guide (hot, iced, and cold-brew instructions) printed right on the back, so you're never digging through a drawer for a card you lost.

No shrink-wrap, no plastic tin, no printed inserts to throw away separately. Just one recyclable tube, front to back.

A thin foil liner sits inside the tube itself — isolating the leaf from outside air and moisture — so the outer packaging can stay simple cardboard without the tea losing freshness.

the first time i bought this item, i accidentally knocked it off a desk and was devastated. glad to report i bought a new one and am just as pleased! it works really well, my loose leaf teas dont pour out with a pile of leaves at the bottom! the tea mailed with the press is also delicious.

I received my French Press Tea maker and it is just as pictured. I like to drink tea occasionally using a tea bag. I saw a Tik-Tok video of someone using a french press tea maker and I'm glad I found one at such a great price on Etsy. I appreciate you sending me a bag of green tea because I don't have any loose tea as of yet. I look forward to using my french press tea maker. Thank you so much for your quick delivery time. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Very responsive and quick to resolve an issue. Himalko Tea gave me great customer experience, unlike the current norm. They have gained my business.

It is a nice little unit. However, it states ‘stainless steel’ and it is NOT. It is all plastic with a stainless steel rod and the screen may be…My Ayurvedic practitioner told me not to use plastic… So, I will have to go out and find one that is ALL Stainless steel innards.

I didn't realize that this French Press does not have the strainer part when you pour from the press into your cup, so some plant particles get into my cup. I didn't even realize that French Presses were made without a pour strainer.

Calming and gentle

I love the White Spring Tea, it is very calming after a hectic day. I make a pot of this tea and always finish it in the evening. If my throat is sore from the dry air, I add a little honey.

Genuine Treat, Best white Tea

For those of us who enjoy good tea, this is a genuine treat. Soft and elegant, this is a sipping tea, not a drinking tea. It is best enjoyed in a quite setting when the objective is to relax and contemplate. If the mood is right, this tea will add to the joy of mental repose, highly recommended white tea.
