ORIGIN

From the Himalayas, to Your Cup

This tea is grown on the cooler slopes of eastern Nepal, on gardens that sit between 3,000 and 7,000 feet. Green tea is usually picked from the same bushes as our black tea — the difference isn't the plant, it's how fast the leaf gets fixed after picking.

Every leaf here is still hand-picked, the way it's been done on these hillsides for generations, by farming families Himalko buys directly from. No brokers stacked in between, no blending in leaf from elsewhere to stretch a batch.

CRAFT

Fixed fast, to stay green

Most green tea on grocery shelves sits for hours before processing, which lets oxidation creep in and dull the color. This is the fast, orthodox way.

01

Pluck

Two leaves and a bud, taken by hand from gardens at 3,000–7,000 ft.

02

Wither

A brief rest to soften the leaf — much shorter than the wither for black tea.

03

Fix (Pan-Fire)

Quick high heat halts oxidation almost immediately, locking in color and grassy flavor.

04

Roll

Shaped lightly by hand to release aroma without bruising the leaf.

05

Dry & sort

Finished at low heat to protect the delicate character, then sorted by hand.

TASTING NOTES

Grassy. Fresh. Clean.

Straight from the product description, in plain terms.

AROMA

Fresh-cut grass with a light vegetal sweetness — nothing roasted or smoky about it.

PALATE

Clean and light, with a gentle vegetal note that stays smooth if you don't over-steep it.

FINISH

Crisp and refreshing, without the heaviness or tannin bite of black tea.

WHY THIS TEA

Why buy this over the grocery-store box?

1

Direct from the farm

Himalko buys straight from small growers in Nepal — fewer middlemen, fresher leaf, and more of what you spend actually reaches the people who grew it.

2

Hand-processed, not machine-dried

Most bagged green tea is machine-dried at scale, which flattens flavor. This leaf is fixed and rolled by hand in small batches.

3

Single-origin, traceable

Every batch comes from the same hillside gardens — no blending in filler leaf from elsewhere to bulk up the box.

4

Fixed within hours

Speed matters more for green tea than any other kind — ours is fixed the same day it's picked, not days later after a long trip to a processing plant.

BREWING

How to brew it right

LEAF
1 tbsp
1–2g per 8oz water
WATER
175°F
Well below boiling
STEEP
2–3 min
Longer turns it bitter
One 2oz pouch brews up to 20 cups; the 4oz size stretches to 43 — plenty to figure out your ideal steep time.
Recyclable packaging. Every tin ships in a curbside-recyclable cardboard tube, not plastic — one more small way to keep this closer to the way tea used to come.
ECO-FRIENDLY
AIR-SEAL LID
KEEPS FRESHNESS
FOIL-LINED INTERIOR

What actually shows up at your door

This is the real tube — mountain-line logo, a hand-drawn tea shoot on the front, and the full brew guide (hot, iced, and cold-brew instructions) printed right on the back, so you're never digging through a drawer for a card you lost.

No shrink-wrap, no plastic tin, no printed inserts to throw away separately. Just one recyclable tube, front to back.

A thin foil liner sits inside the tube itself — isolating the leaf from outside air and moisture — so the outer packaging can stay simple cardboard without the tea losing freshness.
